2012 Good Bye - Hello 2013
2012 has been a fabulous year for sport in all, and disability sports have been highlighted worldwide.
Spider - Y as this year successfully managed 4 wheelchair basketball teams, 1 wheelchair Rugby League Team, along with our management team assisting with the Yorkshire Regional Wheelchair Basketball association and the Juniors Championships in October.
The first 4 nation’s Wheelchair Rugby League championships in July, where we had representation for Scotland and Ireland.
Our school road shows have moved on 20 plus booked already since Septembers Paralympics and we have regular events in four schools in Leeds and these we hope to increase next year.
2013 brings a new year and more events we will be hosting several key events in Leeds including a school wheelchair basketball tournament Jan/Feb, England Wheelchair Rugby league training Feb, 2013 school winter games including IZB (Inclusive Zone Basketball) 8 Mar.
Leeds Rhinos WTRL kick off their 2nd season in the RFL WRL Division 1 and also this year we will be holding several regional development events along with the Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup in July at Medway (London) where our own Andy Gardner will be part of the England WRL as assistant manager.
New year new sports that’s right Leeds Spiders Wheelchair Handball team will officially start training in the new year set around additional fitness training for our other clubs and ultimately taking part in the Wheelchair Handball tournament in May.
