Leeds Spiders WBC founded on Wednesday September 26 , 2007.
We meet at Morley Leisure Centre, Leeds, on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10 pm and welcome those new to the sport or with previous experience.
We are registered with Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association's National, Women's and Junior Leagues.
We hold 3 weekly session per week all year round except for a 2 week break at Christmas, all sessions are run by volunteer parents, who coach, help out and organise the full running of the club including fixtures, funding and finances.
Monday Evenings 7pm – 9:30pm (20+) Basketball or Rugby (In season)
Wednesday Evenings 7pm 10pm (35+) Summer Rugby/Handball Winter Basketball
Thursday Evenings 8pm – 10pm (15+) Winter Fitness, Summer Rugby
Alternate Sundays 10am- 12pm (25+) Basketball or Rugby (In season)
Training consists of General fundamentals, game play fitness, we also have fun sessions which include new sports such as Lacrosse and Aussie Rules all in wheelchairs.
We play host to up to 16 home games per year for Basketball and 8 Rugby and also travel to same amount of away games/ competitions.
We offer Wheelchair Basketball from 8 years upwards we have 2 seniors team 2 junior teams and a women’s team we offer weekly training sessions and competitive competitions for all 5 teams, our Wheelchair Rugby League team also competes at National level all over the UK.
Full weekly training sessions include for new starters to full team training sessions and game preparation, also National League games and Development festivals in the summer.
